- I am married to a wonderful man, Tom. We have 3 awesome kids, Randi--18, Sierra--13 ; Tommy--11.. I was diagnosed for the fourth time with colon cancer. I have had 6 major surgeries in the last 5 years, been thru chemo 3 times and just finished another round of treatments. But my faith remains strong in the Lord God Almighty !!

Thanks for keeping us updated. Sorry to hear you had a rough day when you you went in for your port. Hopefully things go smoothly when you go in for your chemo. It's our prayer that you will be able to feel well enough to do things you need and want to do and that God will use these treatments to rid your body of cancer. Thanks for the picture you sent, it's hanging up with all the other Christmas photos.
Just to let you know as you're talking about spring and baseball, we just had sub zero temps. and are getting a few inches of the white stuff today. At least you can enjoy some nice weather in the weeks ahead. :)
Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers as you begin chemo. Praying that things are going well for Tom in his new position and for the kids at school.
Nice picture. Your incision looks just like mine! I call it my Captain Hook scar (to differentiate it from all of my other scars--but I haven't named the others because they don't have nearly as much character as the port scar). It sure sounds like your day was fun having it put in. You should get a medal or something for all of the junk you've had to put up with from insurance companies and medical people while you've had to deal with the evil Cancer Monster. Not fair. But who ever said life would be fair. (Not me!)
What is IT-101?
IT-101 is an experimental drug, developed by Insert Therapeutics, that acts as a targeted chemotherapy. The drug uses the cancer-killing compound camptothecin, which is engineered into a nanoparticle to attack cancer cells but leave healthy tissue alone.
